About me
Depi is a Movement Director and Dancer. From years of Ballet and Contemporary Dance training, Depi brings an intricate knowledge of movement to the more pedestrian world of theatre. Her particular interest is working with movement to create choreographies and help actors to transform to their character's physicality. In her work she uses led improvisations and elements of her dance background in release technique. Depi worked aside the choreographer and her mentor Siân Williams at Shakespeare’s Globe from 2014 to 2015. As dancer she has worked with the choreographers Quang Kien Van, Miguel Altunaga, Jorge Crecis, Jennifer Irons, Polly Bennett, Jo Meredith, David Lakein, Sian Williams (for the Opera Prefeo: The Orfeo Experience) and Mariela Nestora being former member of her company YELP danceco.
Depi holds an MA in Movement Studies from Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. In 2016 she was selected to attend JVIntensive, a professional development programme in physical theatre and dance with Jasmin Vardimon Company, supported by the Arts Council of England. Depi trained as Dancer and Dance Teacher at Rallou Manou Professional Dance School in Athens. She studied Mathematics (BSc, Department of Science) at The University of Athens.
